19th CENTURY SHOWROOM
Milano, Italy - 2014
Hidden secrets of Milan, the courtyards once encased like gems between the “ballatoio” buildings are now object of new attention.
In one of this secret gem, in a place once hosting a well known paper warehouse, the project brings new life to the space.
With a conscious attention in preserving original details, the refurbishment focuses on redesign the energy efficiency of the space and LED lighting.
The 4.3 meters high white ceilings and walls are counterbalanced by a lush green epoxy floor, which serves as a common ground for the open plan layout.
Despite the ground floor location and the presence of a limited numbers of windows, the space is bright, vibrant and modern yet perfectly integrated with the surrounding courtyard.
